Posted By PolicyPartner.in Team

Defination  of IFSC is The Indian Financial System Code (IFSC). IFSC  is an alphanumeric code that uniquely differntiates
a bank-branch participating in the two main electronic funds settlement systems in India:-
1.RTGS :- the real time gross settlement (RTGS)
In RTGS Funds are credited to beneficiary's account within minutes of remitting the same from remittee's account.
2.NEFT :- the national electronic funds transfer (NEFT) systems.
This is an 11-character code with the first four alphabetic characters representing the bank, and the last six characters (usually numeric, but can be alphabetic) representing the branch.
The fifth character is 0 (zero). IFSC is used by the NEFT & RTGS systems to route the messages to the destination banks/branches.In NEFT funds normally reach to the desired account same day,
if NEFT is done before 6 P.M. otherwise funds will be credited on next working day.

For Example :- IFSC code of State Bank of India in Nangloi DElhi is :-IFSC Code: SBIN0006814 where SBIN (represents State Bank of India ) 0 006814 (branch Code )
